High School IMPACT

High School Student IMPACT

In addition to Sunday morning classes, Sunday evenings provide an opportunity for High School students to get together and grow in Christ. Our weekly programming provides an opportunity for students to continue to develop personal and spiritual relationships.

Students in grades 9 - 12 who are not already members of Memorial Park Church are also encouraged to attend our Confirmation Class each week to examine their faith and make the decision to follow Jesus as a member of Memorial Park.

Our small group studies, time spent with students outside the walls of the church, retreats, service projects and mission trips provide opportunities to foster deep, meaningful relationships through a fun and comfortable environment. We strive for ongoing communication with parents and guardians offers support in their role as the primary spiritual nurturer in the life of their student.

Students in grades 9-12 meet Sunday mornings at 10:10 a.m. during Memorial Park's Discipleship Hour. This dedicated time is an opportunity for students to learn and grow in their faith with targeted studies throughout the year.  This class is led by Kevin Steele, a volunteer in our high school ministry.  For more information, contact Ryan Pietryga, Director of Student IMPACT.
Our Confirmation Class is open to students in grades 9 - 12 who are interested in pursuing membership at Memorial Park Church. This class is led by our Director Student IMPACT, Ryan Pietryga.  The Confirmation Class covers important topics such as Biblical history, the core beliefs of Christianity, and church membership. For more information, contact Director Student IMPACT, Ryan Pietryga.
There is NO High School Impact on Sundays, November 11, 18 & 25 due to Friendsgiving, Laurelville and Thanksgiving Holiday.

Once a year, students in grades 9-12 and Student IMPACT leaders head to Laurelville for a weekend of team-building and relationship-building at this faith-based retreat center. For more information on the Laurelville retreats and dates, contact Director Student IMPACT, Ryan Pietryga.  This year's Retreat is November 16 - 18 and all of our spots are filled at the moment.  We are trying to get more spots, so if you are interested in going with us, contact Ryan or Tammy.

Mission trips and service projects are great ways to grow in your faith while serving to further God's kingdom. Stretching and reaching beyond your comfort zone to help the needy and hurting in our community and our world can be a life-changing and everlasting experience. Our local outreach involvement is with Presents for Patients through the Giving Tree @ MPC, North Hills Community Outreach Food Bank, Compassion Day, World Vision, and The Pittsburgh Project. Extending beyond our community, we hold a shoe cutting event for Sole Hope, contribute shoes to Soles for Jesus, and raise funds for the children of Sierra Leone through Fast for Leone.

In the summer of 2018, we sent two teams out into the mission field. One group traveled to Puerto Rico to serve the community through Youthworks. The other group served our vulnerable neighbors in the communities surrounding Pittsburgh through the work of The Pittsburgh Project.
