MPC hosts the “Saints and Sinners Mystery Dinner Theater” on October 26 and 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the Clayton Center. Join hosts Hank Lawhead and Curt Powell for an evening of food, fun, music and hilarity as they guide you to eternity. Cost of $25 includes your choice of heavenly (or devilish) appetizer, main course of Filet of Lost Sole, Chicken Diablo, or Holy Cow Brisket and dessert. Proceeds of Thursday evening’s event will benefit the Student IMPACT mission trips for 2018 and Friday night will enable students from LaRoche College to attend the CCO Jubilee Conference in February.

Schedule:

  • 6:00 Gathering in entry
  • 6:30 Seating
  • 6:45 Appetizer
  • 7:30 Dinner
  • 8:30 Dessert
  • 9:00 End

Your Hosts:

Hank Lawhead (pictured left): Hank first appeared as "the bookworm" in a grade school play and since then has been willing to step in front of people in nearly any (potentially embarrassing) situation, inhabiting such roles as "Sarcastic Bystander" in George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion," "Gaston" in Disney's ©®™ "Beauty and The Beast" and "Audrey II" in "Little Shop of Horrors." He has worked in film productions as well as voice over for national television commercials. After playing guitar for much longer than it would appear while writing, recording, and producing actual vinyl records, Hank is honored to serve as electric bassist for Memorial Park's Saturday Night Worship. He enthusiastically embraces performance as communication and is pleased to help spread the Gospel through comedy. Hank has also been described as tall.

Curt Powell (pictured right): Curt Powell is described as “shy” and “retiring” by those who know him well. Inexplicably, his lovely young wife Mary still likes him after 35 years, but her interest is clearly waning. You’ve seen him in “Come To The Well” and “You Can’t Do That” here at MPC, and as the MC at numerous events including “Twilight Night.” You can catch his act every Sunday at 9:15 a.m. as a Tru Kids teacher for grades 3-5.
