The very word “retreat” is a sweet thing, isn’t it? It’s so good for us to get some space away from our busy lives and focus on what God is doing in our midst.

We want you to come cozy – this is not an event to get dressed up for, spend a lot of time on your make-up, or wear your heels. This is a “come as you are” event. Wear what you put on when you come home for the day – yoga pants, sweat pants, anything comfy! And bring your slippers! We want to relax together and soak in God’s word “just as we are.”

Friday Night’s speaker is Margy Delposen. Margy is a beloved MPC teacher who has a passion for sharing God’s word with God’s women. She will be teaching us the power and importance of both repentance and rest and rediscovering who we are as children of the King.

On Saturday, Jaime Dean will take us on a journey of trust as she follows God into unknown territory. God speaks to us in the quietness and we can continue to trust Him through the roadblocks of life.

Our prayer is that you would leave this retreat with a renewed sense of your worth and value as children of the one, true God.

Please sign up for one of our Winter Bible Studies. We hope to see you there!

Women to Women: Classes start on Wednesday, January 11, at 9:30 a.m. with our "Connections Time" in Westminster Hall.

Spiritual Warfare - Led by Pastor Betsy Rumer

Are we really in the midst of a battle? Is spiritual warfare a real thing?

We don’t even have to look to Scripture in order to answer that question. All we have to do as human beings is look around. Our experience…both as individuals as well as in the body of Christ…will tell us that we are indeed engaged in a struggle of vast proportions.

In this class our purpose will be to try and understand the spiritual nature of this conflict and how it affects our daily life. We will explore the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Satan, what the battle looks like and how to protect ourselves in it and even bring about healing to those affected by the enemy.

"One in a Million" by Priscilla Shirer - Led by Gail Henry

Book cost: $13

Every week millions of believers fill the pews of the church and hear about the greatness and power of God. They are told that they can experience it, yet few ever do. If you hunger to experience His power, hear His voice, and live in the abundance promised to you, then this book is for you.

"The Hole in Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns - Led by Heather McAninch

Book cost: $11

"The idea behind The Hole in Our Gospel is quite simple. It's basically the belief that being a Christian, or follower of Jesus Christ, requires much more than just having a personal and transforming relationship with God It also entails a public and transforming relationship with the world." (p.xx)

MPC's "kingdom concept" is to 'Live out the unchanging Word to serve an ever-changing world,’ and our hope is that this book will help each of us discover what that means and how to go about doing just that as God speaks into our hearts.

"Hebrews: The Nearness of King Jesus" by Lisa Harper - Led by Jenny Wolff and Bethany Nordman

Book cost: $13

Meets approximately 2 Wednesdays per month, totaling 8 sessions

The Book of Hebrews is a rich, dense section of Scripture that can intimidate the most scholarly biblical student. But Lisa Harper makes digging into Hebrews fun and doable, as only she can, without losing an ounce of depth. Hebrews was a sermon for a specific people and culture in the midst of martyrdom and persecution, but is also so relevant for us today, reminding us to continue walking toward Jesus regardless of our culture or our circumstances.

Jesus is our accessible King. He is not a faraway God, but an up-close Redeemer who draws near to us. Hebrews helps women make the connection between God the Father and God the Son and reminds us that Jesus is supreme, but He is also compassionate, empathetic, and loving to no end.
