Kids Ministry | Memorial Park Church

Children's Ministries

Children’s Ministries strives to make your child’s time at Memorial Park Church the singular best hour of the week. Our mission is to come alongside parents as the primary spiritual influencers of their children, inviting them into life-changing and ever-growing relationships with Jesus Christ.

Using the Tru Kids curriculum, we provide a fun, safe environment for your child each week through:

  • Upbeat music
  • Exciting stories
  • Community prayer
  • Engaging, age-appropriate activities

Your Kids at Sunday Services

9:00 a.m. Worship Service
At our early service on Sunday mornings, we offer childcare and themed activities for newborns through Kindergarteners. Kids in grades 1-5 have an opportunity to worship with their parents for the first part of the service in the Sanctuary, and are then dismissed for age-appropriate worship before the message.
  • Infant Nursery (Birth - 12 Months): Childcare is available in the Nursery, in the upper level of the church to the right of the Sanctuary (as you enter through the main church doors).
  • Toddler Nursery (1-Year-Olds): Childcare is available in the Coral Reef, located downstairs in the Children's Ministries Wing.
  • Tru Explore (Ages 2 - Kindergarten): Themed activities related to the morning's lesson are presented in the Woodlands (ages 2 - 3), and the Savanna (ages 4 - K), both located downstairs in the Children's Ministries Wing.
  • Tru Worship (Grades 1 - 5): 1st through 5th graders will attend the worship service in the Sanctuary with their families. Before the message, they will be dismissed and escorted by Tru Kids leaders to go downstairs to the Rec Room for the start of Tru Worship. Tru Worship is a time for elementary-aged students to engage in interactive connection games, free play, and age-appropriate worship.

11:15 a.m. Worship Service
At our later service on Sunday mornings, we offer childcare and themed activities for newborns through Kindergarteners. Kids in grades 1-5 have an opportunity to worship with their parents for the entire service.
  • Nursery (Birth - Age 2): Childcare is available in the Coral Reef, located downstairs in the Children's Ministries Wing.
  • Tru Explore (Ages 3 - Kindergarten): Themed activities related to the morning's lesson are presented in the Savanna (ages 3 - K), located downstairs in the Children's Ministries Wing.
  • Elementary Students in Grades 1 - 5: Elementary-aged students will attend the entire worship service in the Sanctuary with their families.

Our Programs

Children’s Ministries utilizes the Tru curriculum by David C. Cook, helping children develop a TRU (Transformational, Relational, and Unstoppable) relationship with Jesus Christ:
  • Transformational: Our outstanding team of volunteers creatively and relevantly communicates The Big God Story in a caring, safe, and fun atmosphere each week
  • Relational: We seek to build friendships among the kids, leaders, and parents through outreach opportunities and activities throughout the year
  • Unstoppable: Kids are not too young to make a difference! We provide opportunities for kids to lovingly serve their neighbors near and far
10:10 a.m. Discipleship Hour on Sunday Mornings
The Tru Kids Discipleship Hour at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday mornings is a time of Christ-centered, child-targeted learning for kids of all ages (Birth - 5th Grade). It begins with large group Bible teaching time (The Big God Story), followed by various connecting activities. This is the only hour that children will receive the full Tru Kids learning experience. Learn more about our Tru Kids Discipleship Hour classes below. If you're not on our Tru Kids email list, sign up here!

Our nurseries are available on Sunday mornings to provide safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environments for both you and your child.

Our staff will walk, rock, read, feed, and play with the little ones to ensure that they are content while you worship.  The nursery is made up of two main rooms:

  • Infant Nursery (crawlers, birth to approximately 12 months) in the main nursery by the sanctuary.
  • Toddler Nursery (walkers, 12-24 months), located in the Coral Reef, in the Children's Ministries wing of the church.

A comfort room is also available for parents wanting to worship with their little ones, or for nursing mothers. The comfort room is adjacent to the infant nursery.

Tru Blessings: 2 & 3 Year-Olds
Our 2 & 3 Year-Old class is held in the Woodlands in the Children's Ministries wing. Through sensory interaction, storytelling, joyful worship, and quarterly celebrations, your young one will learn the fundamental truth that God made them, loves them, and is with them.

Tru Wonder: 4 & 5 Year-Olds/Kindergarten
Our 4 & 5 Year-Old/Kindergarten classes are held in the Savanna in the Children's Ministries wing. Through exciting exploration, interactive storytelling, purposeful response time, and connecting through games and crafts, your child will experience the wonder of who God is!
Tru Story: 1st - 5th Graders
Our 1st & 2nd Grade class is held in the Mountains, and our 3rd - 5th Grade class is held in the Rec Room, both located in the Children's Ministries Wing. Engaging worship, impactful teaching, and interactive response activities make Tru Story a place where your kids learn about God's redemptive plan revealed through The Big God Story.

Be encouraged that it’s never too late or too early to start these practices with your little ones: you have the homecourt advantage! Meet us in the Savanna room to spend some time in class with your kids, then receive teaching and have an opportunity to apply it with your kiddos in class. After the session, we will grill out for lunch.

Parents' Night Out

Want to spend Valentine's Day out with a friend or your spouse, away from the kids? We have just the opportunity for you! Join us Friday February 14 from 6:00-8:30 pm for Parents' Night Out (PNO). We'll take the kids at just $15 per one child, $25 for two with a $35 cap per family. Did we mention the money is for a good cause? PNO is a fundraiser for Student IMPACT mission trips and Summer Surge scholarships, two great ministries for our kids and youth at MPC. Paying for a night out can change a child or teen's life this summer. Let's go PNO!
