Mac's Mission

Over the last several weeks, we have heard just how impactful our mission house and missionary care is to our friends and partners. Through your generosity and contributions to Mac’s Mission, we will be able to continue providing these invaluable resources as part of our mission at MPC. Will you be part of the future? Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us move towards our goal of purchasing one of properties along Peebles Road to provide a more sustainable, updated place to house and care for our visiting mission partners, as well as provide short-term housing relief to our local community in need.

Can you contribute $5 a week? How about $10, $15, or $25? We hope you will prayerfully consider becoming a part of Mac’s Mission as we seek to live out our mission of inviting people into a life-changing and ever-growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

COMPLETE YOUR COMMITMENT CARD!
Memorial Park is committed to expanding our reach so we can serve our neighbors near and far. Throughout the years, we have been able to purchase five properties adjoining our MPC campus, which are now being used for various purposes. However, each of these properties has required a mortgage—each of which we have paid off prior to acquiring additional mortgages—which means we have been carrying a debt for a number of years. When the late Mac McCrum became elder emeritus in 2018, he expressed concern over carrying this perpetual debt for such a long period of time, and, as a former development professional, he had the expertise and vision to work with our leadership to plot a path towards debt freedom. Although Mac passed away before this plan could be fully implemented, his vision remains and has become the foundation for Mac’s Mission.
With two remaining properties on Peebles Road that are adjoining the current MPC campus, we had a goal of paying off our current debt while also raising enough funds to purchase these properties without incurring any new debt—an ambitious goal!
The vision is to tear down the remaining deteriorating properties that we currently own and use the final acquisitions as short-term emergency housing and a long-term home for missionary care. This would allow us to create a community garden in the space between them, and furthermore would pave the way for future relocation of our entrance to further down Peebles Road, as had been discussed in the campus master plan several years ago.
In the fall of 2019, Session set a goal to raise $600,000 to pay off the existing debt at that time and have enough to acquire the first property along Peebles Road. Church leaders quietly stepped up, and half of that goal has already been raised. Praise God! We are now asking you to step up and help us raise the remaining $300,000. This would only require 300 families giving $1,000 each over the next year. Some of you may have the resources to give more, and others less, but it is a very attainable goal.
Over the next few weeks, we ask that you prayerfully consider how your family can share in the vision of Mac’s Mission. Are you able to commit $100/month for the next year? Or are you able to contribute from your tax return, year-end bonus, or make a stock contribution? We hope that you will decide to become a part of Memorial Park’s future through your participation.
