Opportunities at Memorial Park

Looking to volunteer, but don't know where to start? Why not get started right here at Memorial Park? We have numerous ways for you to start getting involved directly on the church campus. Whether you're love to cook, want to work outside, or simply want to meet new people, we have just the opportunity for you.

Our Board of Deacons seeks to further the work of Jesus Christ by serving one another in love. Our goal is to lead others into areas of service where they can use their gifts to further the ministries of the church. We would love to guide you to a volunteer opportunity where you can walk alongside one of our teams in a service opportunity or participate in tasks that support the workings of the church. Browse our volunteer opportunities below, or contact the Deacons by e-mail.
Transportation: These volunteers provide rides to doctor’s appointments or to church services or to other essential destinations. Click here if you are able to provide occasional transportation for one of these needs.

Meals: These volunteers are those who are willing to either cook or purchase meals on an occasional, as-needed basis for those who are recovering from illness or hardship. Click here if you are able provide an occasional meal.

Visitation of home-bound friends: Monthly visits are provided for members who are no longer able to attend church services or activities. Click here if you would like to participate in visiting.
Audio Visual Team: This team assists on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings during worship services to run the camera, sound board, and computer software for visuals. No experience is required and training is provided. Contact A/V Coordinator Michael McAdams for more information or to sign up.

Our current needs for the Audio Visual Team include:
  • Saturday Night Worship Sound Tech
  • Saturday Night Worship Visuals Assistant
  • Sunday Morning Worship Sound Tech
  • Sunday Morning Worship Camera Operator
  • Sunday Morning Worship Visuals Assistant

Podcast and CD Ministry: This team uploads the podcast for each Sunday sermon. Enjoy hearing the sermon again by visiting the Podcasts page.

Prayer Chain: This team monitors prayer requests that come in via phone or email. Send us an e-mail if you'd like to submit a prayer request or if you would like to join the prayer chain.
Café: These volunteers seek to foster greater fellowship among us by preparing and serving coffee in the Café after each service. Sign up here if you would like to sign up to serve in the Café.

Event Receptions: These volunteers host the welcoming receptions for new members as well as a Thanksgiving Eve reception and other special events. As events come up, a link will be provided for you to sign up to participate in serving.

MPC Family Fall Festival: This team supports the picnic and entertainment portions of the festival. Each summer, members of the congregation at large will have the opportunity to support this festival by volunteering.

Compassion Day: Compassion day is all about living out your faith in the community. This day in early May is set aside particularly to assist our neighbors perhaps with yard work or painting or just being present with them. Signups for teams begin every year in April.
Communion: To make the Lord’s Supper as orderly and worshipful as possible, this team provides behind the scenes support in preparing for these special services.

Sanctuary Care: This team is in action prior to the services to prepare the sanctuary so it is orderly and supplied when you enter to worship.

Sunday Morning Prayer: Each Sunday morning service is prayed over by an intercessor that listens to the service via headphones and lifts each component to the Lord. If you have a passion for prayer, sign up here to sign up for Sunday morning prayer.
Sunday Morning Greeters: We want our members and visitors to be greeted with a friendly smile and hello when entering for worship. If you enjoy meeting new people, sign up here to volunteer to be a Sunday morning greeter.

Welcome Center: Volunteers at the Welcome Center provide information about MPC and its ministries to members and guests. They provide the next step in being a welcoming presence to a service or activity. Sign up here to serve in the Welcome Center for any of the Sunday services.

Ushers: Our team of ushers are the seamless background to worship. They are there to greet, to supply bulletins, to help with seating, and to assist worshippers with any needs or concerns or emergency situations that arise. Send us an email if you are interested in learning about being an usher.
